A Place Where You Are Welcome
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
At Ontmoetingshuis De Vrijheid you are welcome just as you are. Whether you are looking for a good conversation, a moment of calm, or simply some company over a cup of coffee, you will find an open door and a listening ear here.
We are here for people from Wageningen and the surrounding area who feel lonely, want to meet others, or are seeking connection. The threshold is low—you are always welcome to drop by.
Why?
De Vrijheid was founded by the Immanuelkerk Gereformeerde Gemeente in Wageningen, with a desire to create an open and welcoming place where people feel seen.
Our name refers both to the city of liberation and to a deeper kind of freedom—the freedom promised by God in the Bible.
From our Christian identity, we aim to share a glimpse of the hope that Jesus offers. There is no pressure or obligation, only an invitation. We believe that true freedom means helping one another in love.
We Believe
We believe that God created the world, and that as human beings we often go our own way. This can lead to brokenness, sorrow, and loneliness. But we also believe in good news: God sent His Son Jesus into the world to save us. He died and rose from the dead so that everyone who believes in Him may receive eternal life.
At De Vrijheid, it is not your need for help that is central, but you as a person. Whether you believe, have doubts, have many words to share, or simply want to be silent—you are welcome here.
